美国RN考试备考笔记:药物自查表

RN 药物部分(pharmacological and parenterl therpies)考题比例占考题总数的13-19%也就是说按照你答75题来算,就是有可能遇到10-15题有关药物或治疗方面(pharmacological and parenterl therpies)的问题。这是很多人的薄弱点考前一周自查对下列药物是否滚瓜烂熟,越是不熟越是要查要背!
 
自查: 药名、所属类别、使用途径、副作用、注意事项。
 
健康宣教考试中常见的提问方式有:
 
1.给你四个药物,包括剂量等正给某个疾病的人用(四个不同的药用于四个不同病人)询问你下列四个药哪个使用是错误的
2.儿科给你小儿的体重,问你用某个药物如何计算药量(做这个题要知道如何从kg换算成lb)
3.直接问你某种药物的副作用是
4.问你病人陈述关于4点服药注意事项,问你哪个错(或需要护士对其再教育)或是对的。
例如abacavir sulfate 自问:这个是什么药,属于类别,用于什么病,怎么用,副作用,注意事项,要关照病人哪些问题。
 
Adrenaline - (Epinephrine) is a chemical that narrows blood vessels and opens airways in the lungs. These effects can reverse severe low blood pressure,bronchodilator.
 
Adriamycin – Cancer drug, blood; lymph system; bladder; breast; stomach; lung; ovaries; thyroid; nerves; kidneys; bones; and soft tissues, including muscles and tendons.
 
Alupent – Bronchodilator, tx prevent asthma
 
Aminophylline – Bronchodilator
 
Amoxil- Antibiotic, ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection.
 
Amphogel - used to treat the symptoms of increased stomach acid in conditions such as heartburn, acid reflux, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and stomach.
 
Apresoline – It is used to treat high blood pressure
 
Artane – treat Parkinson's disease
 
Aspirin - reducing substances in the body that cause pain, fever, and inflammation
 
Atrophine - Treating spasms in the stomach, intestines, and other organs. It may also be used to decrease the production of saliva and secretions
 
AZT- HIV
 
Bactrim – treat ear infections, urinary tract infections, bronchitis, traveler’s diarrhea, and Pneumocystis carinii.
 
Benadryl- Preventing or treating symptoms of hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies or the common cold, such as runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose and throat, and itchy, watery eyes, and relieving cough.

Chronulac - treats constipation.
 
Codeine - treat mild to moderate pain.
 
Cogentin - symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, such as stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle.
 
Compazine – Controlling severe nausea and vomiting and treating schizophrenia.
 
Coumadin - Warfarin is an anticoagulant (blood thinner). Warfarin reduces the formation of blood clots.
 
Cytoxin - Treating certain types of the following cancers: lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemia, mycosis fungoides, neuroblastoma, ovarian cancer, eye cancer, and breast cancer.
 
Decadron – Dexamethasone ophthalmic is used to treat eye inflammation caused by infections.
 
Demerol – Treating moderate to severe pain.
 
Diamox – (Acetazolamide) is used to treat glaucoma and to treat and to prevent acute mountain sickness (altitude sickness).
 
Dilantin - Treating tonic-clonic (grand mal) and partial seizures.
 
Diuril – Treating excess fluid buildup in the body caused by certain conditions or medicines.
 
Dramamine- Preventing and treating nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness.
 
Ducolax – Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative, Relieving occasional constipation and irregularity.
 
Dyazide - Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.
 
Elavil- It is a member of the group of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants.
 
Flagyl – Metronidazole is an antibiotic. It fights bacteria in your body. Metronidazole is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina, stomach, skin, joints, and respiratory tract. This medication will not treat a vaginal yeast infection.
 
Garamycin - (Gentamicin) is an antibiotic.
 
Heparin - anticoagulant (blood thinner) that prevents the formation of blood clots.
 
Inderal - Treating high blood pressure or atrial fibrillation. Propranolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers.
 
Indocin - Treating moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Isuprel – (isoproterenol) tx cardiac stimulation and bronchodilator.

Keflex – )Cephalexin) is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, including upper respiratory infections, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections.
 
Lanoxin – (Digoxin) is used to treat congestive heart failure. 0.5-2.0 ng/ml
 
Lasix- (Furosemide) is a loop diuretic (water pill) that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt, allowing the salt to instead be passed in your urine.
 
Librium - Treating anxiety disorders and withdrawal symptoms due to alcoholism. Chlordiazepoxide is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines
 
Lomotil- (Diphenoxylate) is an antidiarrheal medication.
 
Lopressor - Treating high blood pressure (Metoprolol)
 
Maalox - Treating acid indigestion, heartburn, and sour stomach.
 
Mannitol – Preventing or treating excess body water in certain kidney conditions, reducing swelling of the brain, or reducing pressure in the eye. used to force urine production in people with acute (sudden) kidney failure. Increased urine production helps prevent the kidneys from shutting down, and also speeds up elimination of certain toxic substances in the body.
 
Mefoxin – (Cefoxitin) is used to treat many kinds of bacterial infections, including severe or life-threatening forms.
 
Metamucil – (Psyllium) Treating occasional constipation and restoring regularity.
 
Micronase – (Glyburide) Treating type 2 diabetes.
 
Morphine - used to treat moderate to severe pain.
 
Motrin - Treating rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, menstrual cramps, or mild to moderate pain. Ibuprofen is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
 
Mucomyst – antidote for Tylenol over dose.
 
Mycostatin – (Nystatin) is an antifungal medication.
 
Mysoline – (Primidone) is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant.
 
Nitroglycerin - Preventing or relieving a sudden attack of angina (chest pain) caused by heart disease.
 
Protamine Sulfate – Antidote for heparin overdose.
 
Prozac – (Fluoxetine)Treating depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in adults and children.
 
Prevacid - Lansoprazole decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. PPI TAKE BEFORE MEALS
 
Reglan – (Metoclopramide) prevent the nausea and vomiting. GI stimulate 30 min before meal and at bedtime
 
Restoril - Treating insomnia. Temazepam is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines.
 
Robitussin - Robitussin Cold/Cough/Flu is used for: Relieving pain, congestion, cough, and throat and airway irritation due to colds, flu, or hay fever.
 
Silvadine - Silvadene is used for: Treating and preventing bacterial infection in second- and third-degree burns.
 
Sinemet – (Levodopa) is converted to a chemical called dopamine (DOE pa meen) in the brain. Treating symptoms associated with Parkinson disease and parkinsonism-like symptoms caused by other conditions.
 
Solu-Medrol – (Methylprednisolone) replacement for adrenoccortical insufficiency. Corticisteroid: Glucocorticiod
 
Streptomycin – (Aminoglycosides) antibiotic used with at least one other antitubercular medication.
 
Synthroid- tx hypothyroidism
 
Tagamet – (Cimetidine) Treating and preventing ulcers of the stomach and small intestine, and treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
 
Tegretol - Carbamazepine is in a group of drugs called anticonvulsants.
 
Tigan – (Trimethobenzamide) Treating nausea and vomiting.
 
Timoptic- Timolol ophthalmic (for the eyes) is a beta-blocker that also reduces pressure inside the eye. Timolol ophthalmic is used to treat open-angle glaucoma and other causes of high pressure inside the eye.
 
Tylenol - Treating minor aches and pains due to headache, muscle aches, backache, arthritis, the common cold, flu, toothache, menstrual cramps, and immunizations, and for temporarily reducing fever.
 
Valium – (Diazepam) is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines. The management of anxiety disorders.
 
Velosef – (Cephradine) is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics. Cephradine fights bacteria in the body. Cephradine is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, including upper respiratory infections, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections.
 
Vibramycin – (Doxycycline) is a tetracycline antibiotic. It fights bacteria in the body. Doxycycline is used to treat many different bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, acne, gonorrhea, and chlamydia
 
Vistaril – (Hydroxyzine) depresses activity in the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), which causes relaxation and relief from anxiety.
 
Xanax – (Alprazolam) is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety caused by depression.
 
Xylocaine – (Lidocaine) is a local anesthetic (numbing medication).
 
Zyloprim – (Allopurinol) reduces the production of uric acid in your body. Tx for gout.
 
Mental Health: 
 
Clozaril- (Clozapine) is an antipsychotic medication for schizophrenia 
 
Cogentin – (Benztropine) is used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, such as stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle. 
 
Dalamane – (Flurazepam) is used to treat insomnia symptoms 
 
Dexedrine – (Dextroamphetamine) is used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). 
 
Elavil - for the relief of symptoms of mental depression. 
 
Eskalith - Lithium is used to treat the manic episodes of manic depression. 
 
Haldol - Treating schizophrenia. 
 
Luminal – (Phenobarbital) Depresses sensory cortex, decreases motor activity, alters cerebellar function and produces drowsiness, sedation, and hypnosis. 
 
Navane – (Thiothixene) is an antipsychotic medication. Tx for schizophrenia. 
 
Phenergan - It is used to prevent and control pain and nausea during and after surgery. 
 
Ritalin – (Methylphenidate) Treating attention deficit disorder (ADD). 
 
Serax – (Oxazepam) is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines.Treating anxiety. 
 
Sinequan- (Doxepin) is in a group of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants 
 
Surfak – (Docusate) is a stool softener. 
 
Thorazine – (Chlorpromazine) is used to treat psychotic disorders, nausea and vomiting, chronic hiccups, and acute intermittent porphyria.
 
 OB: 
 
Aldomet – (Methyldopa) lowers blood pressure. 
 
Ampicillin - antibiotic in the penicillin group of drugs. 
 
Cortef – (Hydrocortisone) is used to treat many different conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, and psoriasis, 
 
Ergometrine - Preventing or treating acute migraine headache with or without aura (flashing lights, wavy lines, dark spots). 
 
Magnesium sulfate - to control seizures due to certain complications of pregnancy. 
 
Pitocin – (Oxytocin) is used to induce labor, strengthen labor contractions during childbirth, control bleeding after childbirth, or to induce an abortion. 
 
Premarin - Treating certain symptoms of menopause. 
 
Primaxin – (Imipenem) is an antibiotic that fights serious infections caused by bacteria.
 
Yutopar- (Ritodrine) is used to stop premature labor. 
 
Med-Surg:
